Project: GENERAT1ON is a hands-on group engagement experience that makes giving back fun and meaningful. Your team will participate directly in the life-changing services offered by YSM, at one of our three downtown Toronto facilities.

Project GENERAT1ON opportunities
Food Bank group stock and sort
Your team will help prepare our Food Bank for the week’s appointments by assisting staff in unloading food delivery trucks, stocking and sorting a variety of fresh and non-perishable foods, and other donated goods to ensure community members can enjoy nutritious meals at home.
Availability
Mondays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Up to 5 participants
Location
YSM’s Davis Centre at 270 Gerrard St. E. just west of Parliament St.
Financial contribution
$1,500 per group
Evergreen meal prep & serving
Support vulnerable downtown youth by preparing and serving a meal for up to 100. Prepare, serve, tidy up, and feel great about donating your time!
Availability
Lunch Experience: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Dinner Experience: Monday – Thursday, 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Group size
Up to 5 participants per meal
Location
YSM Evergreen Centre for Vulnerable Youth, at 365 Spadina Ave, south of College St. We are across from the Kensington Market area.
Financial contribution
$1,500 per group
Double Take sort and prepare clothing
Your experience will include sorting and organizing clothing donations, preparing retail areas, sizing and/or measuring items for our online thrift store. It may also include upcycling, crafting, and sewing for specialized groups.
Availability
Morning Shift: Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm
In both cases, the end time can be flexible.

From 5 to 24 participants
Location
YSM Double Take Thrift Store at 310 Gerrard St. E., just east of Parliament St. on N. side of Gerrard.
Financial contribution
For a group of 5 to 6 participants: $1,500
For a group of 7 to 12 participants: $3,000
For a group of 13 to 24 participants: $5,000
YSM Kits for a Cause program
An easy, fun and exciting opportunity for your group to give back in a fun and impactful way.
Through our partnership with Kits For a Cause you can host your own kit-packing event and assemble essential care packages for those in need at a time and place that works best for you.
This is the perfect option for school groups, corporate volunteers, faith-based organizations and groups of friends from 3 to 3000! All products will be provided for you.

A corporate contribution is levied to offset the program costs associated with your team-building experience.
These funds directly support YSM’s mission to help individuals and families experiencing poverty.
