YSM offers computer courses for children from in grades SK–Grade 10. These courses range from basic document formatting and keyboard to advanced Programming, 3D design, Robotics, and AI technology

Eligibility:
Families must demonstrate financial need and live in YSM’s catchment area. From Bloor St to Lake Ontario, between Broadview and Yonge Street. Children must attend in person willing to participate every week. Registration is Required. If registration is full, you will be placed on a waiting list for the next available spot or semester. There are two semesters of courses per year (October-Dec) and (Jan-May).
What to expect:
Age-appropriate computer literacy training in a safe, enriching after-school setting led by qualified staff and volunteers. Snacks and fun served daily!
Additional programs & services
SK — Grade 3
Core courses offer our youngest students the opportunity to discover the tech world they are growing into. Children learn how to type, create documents, research their favourite animals and more.
Grade 4 — 8
Core Courses include: Introduction to Coding, Programming and Music Production. Creative courses include: Stop Animation, Robotics, 3D Design, and an Introduction to AI.
Highschool
Core Courses teach the essential skills needed for school and the workplace. Course topics include: 3D design, Advanced Programming, Job Readiness skills, and an Introduction to AI.
Frequently asked questions
Can my child take more than one course?
We ask children to only take one course during a semester. This allows more families to participate.
After I complete the registration form when will I be contacted?
If your child is accepted for the semester, you will be contacted 2-3 weeks before the course begins. We’ll then inform you of course start dates/times.
Who will be teaching the course?
Our teachers are industry professionals as well as tech enthusiasts. Most are University age or older. All classes have at least one teaching assistant to aid in the instruction.
How many students are in a course?
Our courses enroll between 12-16 students.
Is my child required to attend every week?
Yes. We expect regular, weekly attendance with a maximum of two excused absences.
