Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between walk-in, drop-in, and ongoing therapy?

Walk-in therapy involves contacting the intake worker and setting up a scheduled appointment time with a mental health practitioner for Thursdays in person or any other day of the week online. This one session is meant to give you support in your situation in the here and now.
Drop-in therapy is reserved for youth ages 16-24 at our YSM Evergreen Centre. If you are interested please contact the intake worker.
Ongoing therapy is 12 sessions of therapy with a mental health practitioner either in person or online to support you and your mental health journey.

External agencies are free to contact the mental health intake worker to refer the client for mental health services, however the spaces are prioritized for our internal clients. This means that externally referred individuals tend to experience longer waiting times for counselling.

There is a waiting list for mental health services and as such same day services are not available.

Mental health services require the written and verbal consent of the person to receive services. You are welcome to encourage your friend or loved one to contact our intake worker directly.
