YSM addresses poverty in Toronto by focusing on vulnerable youth, financially struggling adults, and families in need. We also partner with community members in high-priority neighbourhoods to develop resident-led solutions where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive and accomplish their goals.
Food services
From meals to groceries, we are tackling food insecurity through our Food Bank, drop-in meal program, and dine-in or take out hot meals.
Employment support
We are helping job seekers find meaningful income through drop-in or appointment-based services for youth and adults.
Childcare
We offer full-time subsidized daycare, nursery, and drop-in services providing play-based care for infants, toddlers, and pre-school children. For young parents, we offer parenting support, workshops, and baby supplies.
Drop-In support
YSM’s Evergreen Drop-In is an inclusive, comprehensive offering for vulnerable youth, providing low barrier programs and services such as meals, showers, laundry, clothing, food items, and one-on-one support.
Health and well-being
YSM offers healthcare and dental services that are free, confidential, and do not require an OHIP card. Mental health services provide emotional support to vulnerable youth and adults using trauma-informed approaches that build resilience and strengthen psychological well-being.
Individualized support
Care Management is an individualized holistic wrap-around approach which strengthens and stabilizes lives and relationships. Care Managers work alongside individuals, offering support as community members set goals and take actions to achieve them.
Education and training
YSM’s classes, workshops, and group-based learning for children, youth, and adults include computer classes for children, summer camps, tutoring, skill-building, and training. We also provide financial support for youths entering post-secondary school.
Spiritual care
YSM offers in-person and online spiritual care and pastoral support. Church at the Mission is an inclusive faith community that welcomes all people, without discrimination, to deepen their spiritual life on their journey to stability.
Housing
YSM’s Housing support services are designed for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing. We help assess housing needs, and access the right resources to maintain or find affordable, and safe housing.
Community development
We believe that community residents hold the knowledge and skills required to create the changes needed in their neighbourhoods. YSM supports, empowers, and connects residents in Regent Park and across Toronto to resources to reach their goals.
